What was this film called please help ......?
It was on Irish TV last New Year, not this one just gone. Had John Travolta as a Navy commander (I think) and Involved loads of soldiers attacking a hill, in Vietnam or the Pacific or somewhere? They kept getting shot in the long grass by snipers/gunmen in bunkers but plugged on regardless up this damn hill.
The film went on for hours, every commercial I thought, yes this is the end, but it wasn't. I fell asleep before the end, did they ever take the hill? I forgot what it was called and its really bugging me.

The Thin Red Line - John Travolta is Brig. Gen. Quintard. Quite a stellar cast actually - also stars Adrien Brody, Woody Harrelson, Ben Chaplin, George Clooney, John Cusack and Sean Penn
