How to make a 2009 335I BMW tween turbo faster?
I will like to make my 335 I BMW faster in the take of as well speed, what can I do to get it with out much of a modification I will like to keep most as it is!!
Answer:
First item of business- get your car checked by the dealer- as it may have an open "campaign" for replacement of fuel injectors, High pressure fuel pump, and or programming. Get this done prior to any mods- it's pointless to do anything that you have to remove every time you visit the dealer.
For mods- check www.dinancars.com I would start with the software only and go from there. The upgraded oil cooler is an excellent upgrade if you plan to keep the car. I would also add an aftermarket oil "catch can" (http://www.modbargains.com/BSH-Oil-Catch-Can-N54.htm)- it attaches inline between the valve cover and intake. It does not add performance- but it SAVES your performance- as oil vapor tends to build up in the intake ports and on the back of the valves causing severe carbon issues. For exhaust I prefer the Meisterschaft system - it's a quality product and sounds very good. Don't bother with open element "cold air" intakes- most of them will not allow even airflow, and those that ARE well designed and take cold air from the front of the car are not going to add much if anything in power as the air WILL get extremely hot when it runs through your turbos. Another thing to avoid wasting money on is aftermarket "blow-off" valves. The factory system KEEPS the turbo spooled up- the noisy valves that vent to the atmosphere waste that power to show off that they have a turbo. It's a BMW- not a 97 Civic. Next mod I would look into is an aftermarket differential. http://www.performancegearing.com/
